FAQs about the FPG

What is the Fales Parent Group?
The Fales Parent Group (FPG) is made up of people just like you who work together to:
· promote educational excellence and a sense of community among students, parents & teachers
· contribute to the educational and social growth of our school community

I already have so many things on my plate, can I still be involved?
Even one hour a year is greatly appreciated! You decide how much you want to get involved.

Do I have to attend the meetings?
Being a part of the FPG doesn’t obligate you to anything. We’d love to see you, but understand that families are busy. Come when you can. Children welcome!

Is there a membership fee?
We always welcome donations, however there is absolutely no fee to join the FPG. We gladly accept donations via the PayPal site. Send them to falestreasurer@gmail.com and write "FPG Donation" in the notes. Thank you for your generosity and support!

Why should I get involved?
1.  To meet other parents in your school.
2.  Feel comfortable talking to teachers & staff.
3.  Have a better understanding of what is going on at school.
4.  Show your kids your support.
5.  Help plan fun activities!

How do I join?

What does the money raised go towards?
We fund enrichment programs, social events, ways and means and more!

What exactly is “Ways & Means”?
Not everything the school needs throughout the year is covered in the school budget.  We help with these types of classroom purchases, as well as other in-town fundraising requests. In the past we have funded:
· Phonics books

· Recorders
· Ball chairs
· Book of the Month program
· White board accessories
· Staff walkie-talkies
· Turkey Trot sponsorship

What is the benefit of funding Enrichment Programs?
These outside programs enhance each grade level’s curriculum. Examples of FPG funded enrichments include:
· Brian Lies (author & illustrator)
· Mr. & Mrs. Fish (marine education)
· The Discovery Museum (science workshop)
· Windows on Wildlife (nature workshop)
· Ukelele artists (musicians)
· Potato Hill Poetry, Andrew Green (author)
· Museum of Science (weather program)

How can I help the FPG?
There are many ways to participate in the FPG!
